Community Impact

We want what you want. High-quality care, close to home, where you're treated like a person. That's why we work with our communities to deliver community health programs and services that fit the intricate fabric of our neighborhoods.

We are a not-for-profit healthcare system and proud of it. Our mission guides our actions every day to ensure innovation and excellence in patient care, teaching, clinical research and service to our communities. To better meet the disparate healthcare challenges faced by people of all ages, Yale New Haven Health is steadfast in its commitment to community health improvement services and programs that make a positive impact.

As Connecticut's leading healthcare system, we discharged 151,850 inpatients last year and had 5.2 million outpatient encounters. We contributed $849.6 million in community benefit and community building activity. We are also growing the economy, employing over 30,000 people as one of the state's largest employers, and conducting business locally. Our economic impact brings value to the state and the people we serve.

Our financial strength allows us to reinvest in our people, programs, services, facilities and technology. Each is an important link in our ability to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care through programs such as our community health services.
