Our Hospitals

Bridgeport Hospital

Bridgeport Hospital is a non-profit 501-bed community teaching hospital that serves patients at its Bridgeport and Milford campuses. It is home to the only burn center in Connecticut and features the second inpatient campus of Yale New Haven Children's Hospital. Affiliated with Yale School of Medicine, the hospital is certified by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center and approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a teaching hospital cancer program. The hospital also offers specialized services in cancer, geriatrics, neurology and neurosurgery and cardiac care.

Greenwich Hospital

Greenwich Hospital is a non-profit, 206-bed community teaching hospital, affiliated with Yale School of Medicine. It was the first Connecticut hospital to receive the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for adhering to strict standards for excellence and safety in spinal fusion and total hip and knee replacement. The hospital also received the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association quality achievement award for its higher stroke care standard. As a progressive regional healthcare center, it includes Smilow Cancer Hospital's Greenwich Hospital Campus. 

Lawrence + Memorial Hospital

Lawrence + Memorial is a non-profit, 308-bed general and acute care hospital providing patient care to medical, surgical, pediatric, psychiatric and obstetrical patients in southeastern Connecticut since 1912. The hospital is also an important health care provider for the residents of Fishers Island, New York, and Washington County, Rhode Island. Specialty areas include southeastern Connecticut's only Newborn Intensive Care Unit, a Wound and Hyperbaric Center and an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit. L+M offers cardiac acute, step-down and rehabilitation programs and is the only eastern Connecticut hospital that performs emergency and elective angioplasty. The Lawrence + Memorial Cancer Center in Waterford, Connecticut, provides medical oncology services, GYN oncology and radiation oncology to area residents.

Yale New Haven Hospital

Yale New Haven Hospital is a non-profit, 1,541-bed acute and tertiary medical center receiving regional, national and international referrals. It provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, family-focused care in more than 100 medical specialty areas and has ranked among the best by U.S. News & World Report in specialties such as diabetes and endocrinology; geriatrics; gynecology; pulmonology; ear, nose and throat; neurology and neurosurgery; and psychiatry. With two inpatient campuses in New Haven, Yale New Haven Hospital is the primary teaching hospital for Yale School of Medicine. Yale New Haven Hospital includes several outpatient centers in New Haven, North Haven, East Haven and Guilford and dozens of radiology and blood-drawing services throughout the state.

Westerly Hospital

Westerly Hospital is a 125-bed hospital, providing Washington (RI) and New London (CT) County residents a wide array of medical, surgical, laboratory and rehabilitative services. With 130 primary and specialty physicians, Westerly Hospital serves the entire community with family-centered medical care. The Lawrence + Memorial Cancer Center provides local access to expert cancer care and treatment to southeastern Connecticut and the surrounding communities, including western Rhode Island and Fishers Island, New York.

Our Physician Foundation

Northeast Medical Group

A not-for-profit multispecialty medical foundation, Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) consists of more than 1,000 medical professionals and 2,200 employees across 130 sites from Rye Brook, New York, to Westerly, Rhode Island. In addition to our community clinicians, our team features hospital-based physicians at Bridgeport, Greenwich and Yale New Haven hospitals.

Affiliations

Yale University

Yale New Haven Health System is affiliated with Yale University, a private Ivy League research university in New Haven. Founded in 1701, the university is the third-oldest institution of higher education in the United States. Yale University comprises three major academic components: Yale College, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the professional schools. In addition, Yale encompasses a wide array of centers and programs, libraries, museums and administrative support offices. Approximately 11,250 students attend Yale.

Yale Medicine

Yale Medicine is the clinical practice of Yale School of Medicine faculty members. Yale Medicine is one of the largest academic multispecialty group practice in the United States, with more than 800 physicians practicing in 160 specialties and subspecialties. Yale Medicine has a reputation as a major referral center for Greater New Haven, for Connecticut and throughout New England.
