Apothecary and Wellness Center at YNHH - New Haven

Overview

The Apothecary and Wellness Center is an outpatient pharmacy located on the Saint Raphael Campus for patients, visitors and employees at Yale New Haven Hospital and the Grimes Center.

Collaboration with your doctor

We work directly with your doctors and caregivers and are here to make sure any difficulties you may be having with your treatment are addressed immediately with your healthcare providers. We can also coordinate prior authorization with your insurance company.

Specialty medications

The Apothecary and Wellness Center supports Outpatient Pharmacy Services; call for general medication questions, such as the status of your prescription or your co-payment amounts. Access to these high-cost medications for complex chronic and/or rare diseases as well as access to the prescribing physicians enables us to provide consistent, ongoing care.

Meds-to-Beds Program

If you are a patient at YNHH on our Saint Raphael or York Street Campuses, Meds-to-Beds is a free service that offers education about your medication and delivers your prescriptions to you at the bedside before you leave the hospital. This means the discharge process will be a little easier for you and your family or friends since there is no need to stop at another pharmacy on the way home. The Apothecary team works closely with your inpatient care team to ensure you are receiving the most appropriate and affordable therapy, eliminating the possibility of any “surprises” at the pharmacy, (like expensive copays, a drug being out of stock, or your insurance requiring a prior authorization).

Medication Refills

Refill medications through MyChart, by phone or in person.

Refund Policy

The Apothecary and Wellness Center policies prohibit the return and restocking of medication once it has been dispensed, sold or delivered to the patient. The Apothecary and Wellness Center dispenses medications in accordance with prescriptions provided by your prescriber. We are not able to issue refunds for prescriptions changed after pick-up or delivery has occurred.

If you have any questions, please contact the pharmacy at 203-789-4076 and ask to speak to the manager.
