Bridgeport, CT (Sept. 12, 2016) – Gina Calder of New Haven has been promoted to vice president of Ambulatory Services at Bridgeport Hospital. She has been executive director of Clinical Services since 2014.
In her new role, Calder assumes responsibility for inpatient and outpatient radiology services, executive oversight of radiation oncology services at Park Avenue Medical Center and oversight of Bridgeport Hospital’s Ambulatory Services business. She continues her current administrative responsibilities, which include Ahlbin Rehabilitation Centers, the hospital’s primary care clinics, and geriatric and palliative care services.
“Gina has proven herself to be a solid leader,” said Bridgeport Hospital Chief Operating Officer Pamela Scagliarini. “She has overseen major initiatives to coordinate patient care and expand the scope of our services, including the consolidation of inpatient rehabilitation services with Yale New Haven Hospital at Milford, the growth of our geriatric and palliative care services, and the occupancy of Park Avenue Medical Center at our outpatient campus in Trumbull.”
A Yale University graduate, Calder received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in 2003 and a master of public health degree in health policy and administration in 2008. Later that year, she joined Bridgeport Hospital as a Yale New Haven Health administrative fellow. She served as sustainability manager for the Streamlining for Success process improvement initiative in 2009. That same year, Calder became manager, and in 2011 director, of geriatric services and business development. She served as director and executive director of geriatric services and patient relations 2012-2014, until her promotion to executive director of clinical services in 2014.
Calder is a founding member and past president of the National Association of Health Services Executives Connecticut chapter, a fellow of the American College of Health Executives and a board member of Optimus Health Care.
