Auxiliary appoints new slate of officers during annual meeting

Sept. 21, 2016 (Greenwich, CT) – The Greenwich Hospital Auxiliary this year donated $792,000 to Greenwich Hospital to enhance surgical, cardiovascular and other services.

The donations included $386,000 for a neurosurgical microscope, $206,000 for a medical imaging device used in surgery, and $200,000 toward a five-year pledge of $1 million to support cardiovascular services. The generous gifts were announced during the Auxiliary’s 66th annual meeting on Sept. 19.

“My deepest thanks to each and every one of you for all that you do to make our hospital a stronger and safer place for our patients,” said Norman G. Roth, Greenwich Hospital president.

To date, the Auxiliary has contributed close to $10.3 million through proceeds from its thrift shop, gift shop and annual fundraising efforts. Past donations have funded state-of-the-art equipment and supported hospital services, including Emergency, Maternity, Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Healing and more. The Auxiliary also funds annual scholarships for high school graduates studying for healthcare careers.

During the annual meeting, outgoing Auxiliary president Sally Lochner welcomed successor Christine Randolph of Larchmont, NY and a new slate of officers, including Teal Lindsay of Norwalk, CT, vice president, Edward Farrell of Riverside, CT, treasurer and Cos Cob resident Laura Delaflor, secretary.

“Greenwich Hospital is extremely grateful for generosity and commitment of its auxiliary and volunteer force,” said Stacey Green, director of Volunteer Services. “This year, nearly 700 adult and junior volunteers contributed to the success of the hospital by volunteering approximately 51,000 hours of service.”
