Greenwich, CT – Paul Pryce, CNA, was honored with the prestigious Marian Nowak Award – given to the employee who embodies the best of Greenwich Hospital’s values – at the annual Employee Service Awards Dinner.
A certified nursing assistant for eight years, Pryce was recognized for his work in the hospital’s Medicine Department, most notably with the elderly.
“He connects directly with patients in a way that patients remember and appreciate long after he leaves their room,” said one colleague. “His special gift is making people feel at ease and comfortable in his presence.” His brother and niece surprised him as he accepted the award.
Each year at the annual appreciation event, the hospital celebrates employees with extended service to the hospital, from five years and longer, in five-year increments. The highlight is the presentation of the Marian Nowak Award, established in 1990 in memory of Marian Nowak, a Holocaust survivor and Greenwich employee for 41 years who exemplified the qualities of hard work, kindness, friendship, loyalty and humility.
Also honored at the dinner was Greenwich resident Evelyn Franco, RN, for 50 years of service. In 1966, Franco graduated from Greenwich Hospital’s School of Nursing and began work in the Emergency Department, where she has worked ever since.3/11/2025
