Seven Yale New Haven Children’s specialties spotlighted by U.S. News & World Report

Best Children's Hospital - Ranked in 7 specialties 2014-2015

Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital has been ranked among the best in the nation for seven of its pediatric subspecialties in the 2014-15 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, published online by U.S. News & World Report. YNHCH ranked in cancer (45); diabetes and endocrinology (#3); gastroenterology and GI surgery (#18); neonatology (#37); neurology and neurosurgery (35); orthopedics (#48); and pulmonology (#47).

“We are honored to have so many of our children’s hospital specialties ranked among the best in the United States. We are especially proud that our diabetes and endocrinology program is among the top three nationally,” said George Lister, MD, physician-in-chief at YNHCH, and chair of pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine. “Our goal is simply to be the best we can be for the children of our region. Our growth, our quality and safety initiatives, and our commitment to recruiting and retaining top medical talent are vital to improving outcomes, discovering new cures and caring for every child who needs us.”

“The depth and breadth of our expertise across all the pediatric specialties is significant and becoming more impressive each year, all while we continue to improve access to our services across the state and region,” said Michael G. Caty, MD, surgeon-in-chief at YNHCH, and chief of pediatric surgery at Yale School of Medicine. “Our rankings as a top children’s hospital by U.S. News for the past several years, are due to the remarkable work of our physicians, nurses, and staff, as well as the patient families who work in partnership with us.”

Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital is a major medical center with campuses in New Haven and Bridgeport.
