WESTPORT, CT (Aug. 4, 2022) – Yale New Haven Health has opened a new digestive health center at 325 Riverside Ave., Suite 100, in Westport. A ribbon cutting was held Aug. 3 with center staff and health system officials on hand.
“We are excited for Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine to bring to Westport and the surrounding communities the expertise of our leaders in Digestive Health combined with the caring and commitment of the primary care physicians of Northeast Medical Group,” said Cynthia Sparer, president Ambulatory Services, YNHHS. “These services provide residents of the area with ready access to comprehensive, top quality care, and we are thrilled to dedicate this beautiful new location, close to home for so many.”
The Digestive Health Center is staffed by an expert team of digestive diseases specialists from Yale Medicine and Northeast Medical Group. The new center provides coordinated care at one location for medical and surgical patients including bariatric, colorectal and hernia surgery. While most surgeries will be performed at Bridgeport Hospital or Park Avenue Medical Center in Trumbull, patients will experience the convenience of attending pre- and post-surgery appointments in Westport.
“Bridgeport Hospital is pleased to take part in this initiative,” said Anne Diamond, JD, president, Bridgeport Hospital and EVP, Yale New Haven Health. “The new Digestive Health Center is conveniently located to connect our patients in Westport and adjacent areas to the hospital and our health system's medical providers.”
Bridgeport Hospital is a member of Yale New Haven Health and a practice site for many Yale Medicine and Northeast Medical Group digestive diseases specialists.
In addition to the new Digestive Health Center, the same campus is home to Northeast Medical Group Family Medicine of Westport, which provides personalized primary care to adults and children. For more information, or a referral to any YNHHS-affiliated physician, please call 888-357-2396.
