New Haven, CT (February 20, 2024) – Yale New Haven Health today announced that Pamela Sutton-Wallace has been promoted to president of Yale New Haven Health. In her role as president, along with leading operations of the Health System, Pam will drive enterprise strategy to align and strengthen clinical services across the continuum of care to advance the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
Sutton-Wallace joined Yale New Haven Health in July 2022 as chief operating officer and was tasked with helping guide the Health System out of the pandemic and into its envisioned future as an academic health system. She has been instrumental in driving key strategies with the Yale School of Medicine to build programs and increase access for patients across the state and region.
“Pam has proven herself as a visionary leader at our Health System and among her peers nationally,” said Christopher O’Connor, CEO of Yale New Haven Health. “I truly appreciate her commitment to high quality and equitable care as well as her operational acumen.”
Sutton-Wallace received her Master of Public Health from the Yale School of Medicine and her bachelor’s degree from Washington University. She serves on many Boards including Consensus Cloud Solutions, Inc., Carol Emmott Foundation and Duke University School of Nursing Board of Visitors and is an active member of the National Association of Health Services Executives.
Among the many recognitions she has received over the years, Sutton-Wallace was named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Minority Executives in 2018 and one of the Top 25 Women Leaders in Healthcare in 2019 and 2023. Becker’s named her one of its Top 50 African-American Health Care Executives in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
