What does it mean when you say we are transitioning to paperless statements?
For Yale New Haven Health, Northeast Medical Group, and Yale Medicine MyChart users who are the guarantor* of an account(s), the default means of receiving your bill will be set to paperless on January 3, 2023. This means patients will receive a notification when billing statements are available in MyChart and statements will no longer be mailed. If you prefer paper statements, you can easily login to MyChart after January 3 and choose to receive paper statements.
*A guarantor is the person or entity responsible for paying the balance of an account.
How will I know when I have a new balance or statement
All patients, even those who choose to receive paper statements, can receive email and/or text notifications when they have a new account balance and/or when they have a new statement. Balance update notifications are sent as soon as a new or changed patient balance is available in MyChart. Statements and statement notifications are only generated once per month for Yale New Haven Health and Northeast Medical Group statements, and once per month for Yale Medicine statements. If you pay your balance in full before the statement is generated, no statement will be created.
MyChart users can update communication preferences by

How can I see billing details, statements, and previous payment information in MyChart?
