Christine Meche, CNM

Christine Meche joined Connecticut Coastal OB/GYN in July 2024 after obtaining her Master of Science and Post-Graduate Certificate from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, with dual specialties in Nurse-Midwifery & Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University. Prior to joining the group, Christine honed her skills as a registered nurse in various capacities, including maternity & well newborn care at Yale New Haven Hospital and labor & delivery care at the Connecticut Childbirth & Women’s Center in Danbury, CT. She also continues to serve as a sexual assault forensic nurse in various emergency departments throughout the greater Hartford area. Christine is dedicated to holistic and trauma-informed patient care, advocacy, and ongoing education. Her specialty interests include chronic vulvovaginal disorders, vulvar dermatoses, pelvic floor dysfunction, hormone replacement therapy for peri/postmenopause, hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), and related comorbidities. She is an active member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH) — two global leaders in the research, education, and clinical practice for vulvovaginal wellness and sexual function. She is also a designated member of the Northeastern US Ehlers-Danlos Society Network of Excellence who collaborates within the multidisciplinary organization to provide referrals and resources for patients managing EDS. Outside of her professional endeavors, Christine is deeply involved in advocacy and volunteer work. She volunteers with Tight Lipped, a grassroots movement by and for individuals with chronic vulvovaginal disorders and pelvic pain-related conditions, as well as her local Medical Reserve Corps.
