<p>Dr. Victor Mejia specializes in the management of the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease, from primary prevention to acute cardiac conditions to chronic cardiovascular disorders. His goal is to treat patients as individuals, taking into consideration their specific needs while applying the latest evidence based medicine. "I believe in involving my patients and their families in making decisions about the care they receive because when we make decisions together it leads to better results”. Dr. Mejia's areas of expertise include minimally invasive procedures to treat heart attack and open blocked arteries to improve symptoms and quality of life. He also has special expertise in performing endovascular procedures to replace damaged heart valves (TAVR) and to prevent stroke in high-risk patients with atrial fibrillation (Watchman procedure). He has been awarded multiple times for outstanding teaching in the Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at Bridgeport Hospital and serves as the Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Program at Yale University/Bridgeport Hospital. He has been honored as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Interventional Cardiology in Connecticut multiple years in a row.</p>
