<p>Dr. DeJesus is a triple board-certified podiatric surgeon with extensive training and experience in elective and reconstructive surgery of the foot. She is Board Certified with The American Board of Foot &amp; Ankle Surgery, The American Board of Podiatric Medicine, and The American Board of Wound Management. She is a Fellow with the American College of Foot &amp; Ankle Surgery, a Fellow with The American College of Podiatric Medicine, a Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and a Certified Wound Specialist Physician. Her expertise includes diabetic reconstructive foot surgery, wound care, diabetic foot infections/wounds, minimally invasive bunion and hammertoe surgery, sports injuries, and reconstructive foot surgery. Dr. DeJesus completed a 4-year surgical residency in NYC at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, An Academic Affiliate of Weil Medical College of Cornell University and NY Presbyterian Hospital Network. She served as solo Chief Resident in her final 2 years, supervising and teaching 33 other residents. Dr. DeJesus is former faculty within the Department of Medicine at the prestigious New York College of Podiatric Medicine located in New York, NY. She also spends time mentoring high school and college students about careers in medicine. In addition to teaching, Dr. DeJesus exhibits research about unique surgical case studies at surgical conferences nationally and internationally. Dr. DeJesus volunteers her time by participating in yearly overseas medical mission trips to Vietnam, Colombia, and The Bahamas. She also supports healthy activities in the community by leading a medical team of residents and students at marathons throughout the year.</p>
