Karen E. Brown, MD

Karen E Brown, MD is an Internist at Northeast Medical Group. Dr Brown specializes in preventive care and diagnosis of new medical problems. She feels strongly that medical care should be a collaborative relationship where decisions are made in conjunction with her patients and in line with their life priorities. She earned her medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine, in Baltimore Maryland. She completed residency training and a year of Chief Residency at Yale New Haven Hospital in 1995. She has been practicing, teaching, and coordinating Primary Care in the Greater New Haven Community since then. In addition to recognizing the importance of shared decision making to direct care, she is also a passionate advocate for effective systems of preventive care in the community, office, and health system to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to obtain basic preventive care services such as vaccinations, cancer screening, and Cardiovascular risk reduction without hassle. In addition to patient care, Dr Brown serves as Medical Director for Primary Care (Northeast Medical Group) and Co-chairs committees at Yale Health which promote access and tracking of preventive services across the Yale Health system. When away from the office, Dr Brown is happily married and a proud parent of four young adults. She is an avid gardener and boater.
