Mercy Kibe, MD, is a vitreoretinal surgeon at the Yale Eye Center. She specializes in the medical and surgical care of vitreoretinal diseases, providing advanced treatment for conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, macular holes, retinal detachments, epiretinal membranes, retinal vein occlusions, retinal artery occlusions, ocular trauma, and other vitreoretinal disorders.
As an assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Kibe's research interests include diabetic retinopathy, disparities in vision health and eye care, and global ophthalmology, reflecting her commitment to advancing the field and addressing health inequities.
Dr. Kibe received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine internship and ophthalmology residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center, followed by a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery at the Yale Eye Center.
