Omar T. Sobh, MD

Omar Sobh, MD, is an accomplished obstetrics and gynecology physician known for his dedication and compassionate care. Dr. Sobh earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. He is a Shelton, Connecticut native and returned to his hometown where he completed his residency at Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Sobh consistently demonstrated exceptional care and received recognition, including teaching awards, professionalism awards and maternal fetal medicine awards. He served as chief resident for education, integrating the latest medical advancements into patient treatment. He is currently a clinical instructor for the Yale School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences.

Dr. Sobh provides a full spectrum of services. He is proficient in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and is trained in robotic surgery with the da Vinci® Robotic system. He is certified in the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery. He offers a wide range of services, including management of abnormal uterine bleeding, fibroids and sterilization procedures.

Dr. Sobh has an interest in high risk and routine pregnancies and has received multiple awards for his work in obstetrics. His passion for guiding and supporting women facing complex pregnancy situations is a defining aspect of his practice. To ensure the best care for his patients, he stays up to date with the latest advancements in the field.

Dr. Sobh also offers routine gynecologic care including annual visits, complex contraception counseling, management of abnormal pap smears, Nexplanon® and intrauterine device (IUD) insertions. He has a global perspective, which is shaped by his extensive travels, including medical rotations abroad.
