Forbes Magazine names Yale New Haven Health among the top 500 Best Employers

Thursday, February 20, 2025

NEW HAVEN, CT (Feb. 20, 2025) – Forbes Magazine named Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS) as one of the Top 500 Best Large Employers in the nation. The honor was announced in Forbes’ 10th Anniversary edition of its “America’s Best Large Employers and America’s Best Midsize Employers” rankings.

“Yale New Haven Health is very proud to join a prestigious group of companies and organizations across the United States on the Forbes list of best large employers,” said Christopher O’Connor, CEO, YNHHS. “As one of the leading healthcare systems in the United States, our efforts have consistently focused on providing the highest quality care to our patients and their families. At the center of these efforts are our dedicated employees who are committed to excellence and patient-centered care. We strive to create and cultivate a work environment that rewards our employees for their dedication and through personal and professional growth. This recognition further solidifies our position as a preeminent employer in our industry.”

The rankings are based primarily on survey responses from more than 217,000 employees working at companies within the U.S. that employ more than 1,000 people. Forbes said that for 10 years, its best employer lists have tracked companies and organizations as they’ve navigated an era of lightning-speed technological innovation and economic and geopolitical instability. At the same time, Forbes said, research has shown employees have remained relatively steadfast when asked what they care about most in an employer: compensation, employee development and advancement opportunities, meaningful work, supportive colleagues and workplace well-being and flexibility.

Yale New Haven Health (YNHHS), the largest and most comprehensive healthcare system in Connecticut, is recognized for advanced clinical care, quality, service, cost effectiveness and commitment to improving the health status of the communities it serves.
