Leaders to discuss women and ageism in the workplace
YNHHS employees are invited to a virtual panel discussion, “Generations Working Together Part 2 – Women and Ageism in the Workplace,” 11 am - noon Monday, June 28. Panelists will be Marna Borgstrom, YNHHS CEO; Amber Burton, senior contract specialist, YNHHS CSC Strategic Sourcing; Maryann Calabrese, Bridgeport Hospital chaplain; Yvania Collazo, YNHHS patient finance access specialist; and Jamie Sullivan, strategic operations manager, YNHHS Finance. Ena Williams, RN, YNHH chief nursing officer, will moderate. Sponsored by the HSC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council, the event will be an open dialogue about the social aspects, challenges and negative impacts of ageism that women may experience in the workplace. Auxiliary presents scholarships
The Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary recently presented $2,000 scholarships to 10 local high school students who will pursue education in the medical and allied health fields. Scholarship winners were Peter Borzillo of Wallingford; Brianna Iuteri of North Branford; Ohm Patel of East Haven; Justin Pollio of Hamden; Neeko Rosete of West Haven; Julia Shatalov and Tina Zhang, both of Cheshire; and Gisselle Rojas, Citlaly Sampedro and Steven Zhang, all of New Haven. Intended majors for the students include social work, nursing, biology, public health, dentistry and pre-medicine.
