Thank you, Gunny, for your years of “furvice”

On Nov. 11, Yale New Haven Hospital wished therapy dog Gunny a happy retirement. For the past four years, Gunny and owner Valerie DeMarco have brought joy to patients, visitors and employees. DeMarco, who was hospitalized as a child, said becoming one of YNHH’s therapy dog teams was a way to give back. On his last day at the hospital, 11-year-old Gunny got lots of smiles, pets and nuzzles from his fans, along with one of his favorite treats: cheeseburgers.
