Applications for Yale engineering scholarships due in April

During April, Yale New Haven Health System will accept applications for the Betty Ruth Hollander Engineering and Science Scholarships. Yale New Haven Health System employees, including full- and part-time employees of Yale New Haven, Bridgeport and Greenwich hospitals and the Grimes Center, whose children or grandchildren have been admitted as an undergraduate to Yale College to major in engineering or science, may apply. The student may also be a current undergraduate at Yale, majoring in engineering or science. The scholarship covers the annual cost of tuition at Yale for up to four years. Weight-loss program begins in April

YNHH is offering Live Well and Lose It, a group weight-management class for employees and their adult dependents covered under the Yale New Haven Health System benefits plan with no copay or deductible. This six-session program, taught every other week by YNHH registered dietitians, includes a 30-minute lecture on topics such as best food choices, portions, dining out and staying motivated, and confidential weigh-ins and goal-setting assistance. Interactive drumming event April 14

Patients, guests and employees are invited to a free Smilow Wellness Workshop Series drumming event, 5:30 - 7 pm Thursday, April 14, 55 Park St. auditorium. The session combines rhythmic melodies with repetitive patterns of simple hand movements on a drum for a joyous, hands-on experience. No drumming experience is necessary for the workshop. YNHHS announces car rental benefit

Yale New Haven Health System has a new partnership with Enterprise Rent A Car and National Car Rental that will make it less expensive for employees to rent cars for select business and personal use, reduce the cost of business-related travel for the health system and help standardize business travel reimbursement system-wide. Employees, YNHHS-employed physicians and members of the medical staffs who use the YNHHS contract ID number (XZ24YNH) when renting from either company will, in most cases, receive lower rental rates that include rental car insurance for greater protection.
