The Know Your Numbers Plus (KYN+) wellness rewards program launches Monday, May 14. Now in its sixth year, the program gives Yale New Haven Health System employees the opportunity to earn up to $500 credit toward the cost of their 2019 YNHHS medical premium — and be healthier at the same time. Participation in Know Your Numbers Plus is also a 2018 Performance Incentive Plan (PIP) goal.
“Many employees have commented on how the program has helped make them more aware of their own health issues or concerns. Several participants have also said that taking part in the program has given them incentive to adopt healthier eating and fitness habits,” said Kevin Myatt, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “With this program, everyone benefits — employees can improve their health and save money, plus YNHHS has a healthier workforce to provide safe, extraordinary care for our patients.”
Benefits-eligible employees will soon receive a brochure at home with details about this year’s program, including how to use the confidential RedBrick Health wellness portal to participate.Your “numbers” — cholesterol levels, blood pressure and blood glucose — tell a lot about your health and can identify a health risk requiring attention. That’s why a basic health screening is the core of the Know Your Numbers Plus program and earns $350 in credit. Screenings can be done at a YNHHS on-site location, through an employee’s personal physician or at a participating CVS MinuteClinic.
In addition to the $350 screening credit, employees can earn up to $150 in credit by completing personal choice activities in one or more categories, such as:
All details about the KYN+ program are in the brochure, including information about the personal choice options, credit that can be earned and eligibility periods. Some activities can occur between Sept. 1, 2017 and Aug. 31, 2018. All KYN+ elements must be completed by Aug. 31, 2018.
Participation in Know Your Numbers Plus 2018 is open to all benefits-eligible employees hired on or before June 25, 2018 who are enrolled in a YNHHS medical plan, waived benefits for 2018 or became benefits-eligible during 2018.
New for this year, employees’ spouses who are covered dependents enrolled in a YNHHS medical plan are invited to participate by having an on-site health screening to learn about their health.
Employees who are not benefits-eligible or do not choose to enroll in YNHHS benefits are encouraged to complete an on-site health screening. Along with providing valuable health information, participation counts toward PIP goals. In addition to the brochure, Know Your Numbers Plus information will be available on the YNHHS intranet homepage, RedBrick Health portal (under “Applications”) and the HRConnect benefits service center (www.ynhhs.org/hrconnect or 844-543-21HR).
