YNHH employees to get a “sneak peek” at the new Ronald McDonald House
For over a year, employees have watched crews transform a site across from Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital (YNHCH) into a new home away from home for the families of hospitalized children.
On Tuesday, July 18, 11 am - 1 pm, YNHCH employees will have the opportunity to tour the new Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut, which will serve families of YNHCH patients.
The new house, which will replace the 12-bedroom house on George Street, is being constructed in phases and will eventually offer 42 bedrooms, kitchen and dining facilities, respite rooms for parents who need a short break from their hospital visits and other amenities.
Supported by donors, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, and McDonald’s owner/operators, the house supports families regardless of their ability to pay. Ronald McDonald Houses are designed to help families remain close to their hospitalized children in a homey and comforting atmosphere.
