YNHH is offering Live Well and Lose It, a group weight-management class for employees and their adult dependents that is covered under the Yale New Haven Health System benefits plan with no copay or deductible. The eight-week program, taught by hospital registered dietitians, includes a 30-minute lecture on topics such as best food choices, portions, dining out, healthy cooking, staying motivated and stress-related eating. It also includes a confidential weigh-in and assistance with goal-setting. Classes are available at 7:30 am, 12:15 pm and 4:30 pm Wednesdays, April 29-June 17, York Street Campus; Thursdays at 12:15 pm, April 30-June 18, Saint Raphael Campus; and 7:30 am at the Long Wharf location. At the International Stroke Conference in February, the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association recognized Yale New Haven Hospital as an Elite Target Stroke hospital. Hospitals awarded this designation have administered intravenous tPA medications to dissolve blood clots within 60 minutes of ischemic stroke patients' arrival at least 75 percent of the time over the period of a year.
