Northwest 9 wins Capacity Champions Cup

Northwest 9 (NW9) recently won Bridgeport Hospital’s January-February 2025 Capacity Champions Cup. This is the unit’s fourth win since the program’s inception in 2022. The award recognizes units that meet their daily discharge target the most days in the previous two months. It is part of Yale New Haven Health’s efforts to improve patient throughput by ensuring that patients who are clinically ready to leave the acute-care setting experience a safe and timely discharge. NW9 met its daily discharge target 39 of 59 days (66 percent) in January and February, which represents exemplary teamwork, communication and dedication to safe patient flow.
