Strengthening Our CORE

YNHHS officially opens Transportation Logistics Hub

bulletin

Yale New Haven Health leaders and staff celebrated the opening of the new Transportation Logistics Hub with a ribbon-cutting Jan. 22. The hub, located at the Capacity Coordination Center in New Haven, is designed to make it easier and faster to arrange transportation for discharged patients across the health system and free up much-needed beds. The hub also allows clinical teams to track each transport and update staff or patient families. The new system is live at both Yale New Haven Hospital campuses, inpatient units and Emergency Departments. For information or assistance, call the hub: 203-200-3456.

Jason Cooling, clinical redesign consultant, Clinical Operations, YNHHS (pointing), and Serena Young, facilitator, Transportation Logistics Hub (at computer), demonstrated the hub to (l-r): Thomas Balcezak, MD, chief clinical officer, YNHHS; Pamela Sutton-Wallace, chief operating officer, YNHHS; Laura Pham, MD, executive director, Patient and Physician Access, YNHHS; and Alan Friedman, MD, chief medical officer, Yale New Haven Hospital.

This article is part of the Strengthening Our CORE news series that looks at how teams across Yale New Haven Health are working to reposition the health system for the future by focusing on strategic priorities through a systemwide initiative called Strengthening Our CORE (Collaboration, Optimization, Resiliency, Efficiency). Multiple workstreams have been designed to improve operational efficiencies; foster innovation; and improve quality and safety for patients and employees.
