Michael D. Holmes has been named chief operating officer, Yale New Haven Hospital. In this role, he oversees YNHH budget mitigation activities. Holmes retains his existing responsibilities as hospital incident commander, and continues to oversee Behavioral Health, Emergency Medicine, Laboratory Services, Pathology, Respiratory Care and all key support services. Holmes has more than 32 years of senior executive experience in health care. He joined YNHH in 2013 as senior vice president of Operations, leading the successful integration with the Hospital of Saint Raphael. As incident command officer, Holmes has led YNHH’s COVID-19 preparations and response. Before joining YNHH, Holmes was executive vice president and COO at Franciscan St. James Health in Chicago. Holmes earned his BS in public health administration from Indiana University and his MS in administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Joseph Duplinsky has been named director of the Shoreline Endoscopy Center. He joined Yale New Haven Hospital in 2010 as an ambulatory care associate at the Shoreline Surgery Center and later worked as a technician in the Adult Emergency Department. After working for several years in finance and business outside YNHH, Duplinsky rejoined the hospital in 2017, serving as program leader for the Center for Musculoskeletal Care and, most recently, operations manager for the Neurosciences, Orthopedic and Spine service lines. Duplinsky earned his undergraduate degree in Anthropology from the University of Vermont and an MBA from Quinnipiac University.
