The Women's Mental Health Conference (WMHC) will host its virtual 2021 conference April 23 - 24, featuring #MeToo founder Tarana Burke as keynote speaker. This year’s conference will focus on racial justice, healing and COVID-19’s impact on women. The conference also will include panel discussions on Black and Native American women’s mental health, women's mental health tech, and reproductive psychiatry. For the 10th consecutive year, Yale New Haven Hospital has been honored by Best Workplaces for Commuters (BWC) as among the nation’s top employers. BWC found that at least 14 percent of YNHH employees get to work by means other than driving alone. The organization recognized YNHH’s efforts to address issues such as traffic congestion and carbon emissions, and the hospital’s range of commuter benefits. The Structural Heart Program at YNHH’s Heart and Vascular Center recently received Transcatheter Valve Certification from the American College of Cardiology (ACC). YNHH’s is the first and only Connecticut program to receive this ACC certification, which recognizes expertise, care quality and safety, and outstanding outcomes for transcatheter valve replacement patients. During a rigorous, nine-month evaluation for the certification, ACC reviewers analyzed care quality, clinical outcomes, patient experience, quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives.
The Harvey Cushing/John Hay Whitney Medical Library – the library for YNHH and Yale – has received the national Medical Library Association’s 2021 Research Advancement in Health Sciences Librarianship Award. The award recognizes organizations that have advanced health information research and evidence-based practice in health sciences libraries, and have created and sustained a culture of research that contributes significantly to clinical, educational, research or administrative outcomes in their institutions.
