Tina Neville, RN; Wendy Marin
These employees received PEACE (Patient Experience Award for Caring and Excellence) recognition for going above and beyond to meet patients’ and families’ needs.
Tina Neville, RN, Transplantation and Liver Unit (WP-9), was honored for compassionate, patient-centered care of a patient and his family. The patient has missed a number of important family milestones and celebrations due to frequent hospitalizations over the past five years. When Neville learned that his youngest son was leaving for college, she coordinated a gathering of the patient’s family in front of the hospital. The son could see his father on the sky bridge between the West and North pavilions holding a sign cheering him on for his first day of school.
Wendy Marin, patient care associate, Hematology/Oncology (NP-11), was honored for going above and beyond for a patient who was in the hospital on her 89th birthday. Marin surprised the patient with balloons, a card, a tiara and the supplies needed for a manicure. The patient was very grateful to be able to mark her birthday with a small celebration.
All employees, physicians and volunteers are eligible for the monthly PEACE award. Send nominations to: [email protected].
