Rebecca Bartomeli, RN; Lourdes Yambao, RN
Congratulations to these Great Catch winners for modeling HRO safety behaviors and taking action to improve patient safety.
Rebecca Bartomeli, RN, Women's Services Infusion, was recognized for attention to detail and 200% accountability. Bartomeli stopped the line and escalated her concerns when she noticed that her patient’s plan of care was incomplete regarding the consent process, medication administration sequencing and follow-up appointments.
Lourdes Yambao, RN, East Pavilion OR, was recognized for attention to detail and 200% accountability. Noticing only four specimens, she recalled that during the pre-surgery time out, the team had discussed a fifth specimen. The surgeon accepted Yambao’s cross-check, and the team stopped the line to retrieve the specimen. Yambao’s use of CHAMP behaviors prevented a potential negative outcome.
