YNHH’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council recently collected and donated books to third-grade classes at New Haven’s Truman School. The council’s Community Engagement Committee collected 280 books, plus art supplies and journals donated by employees and community members. The students were challenged to read and log at least eight books over the summer to receive a free book. YNHH DEI Council members Mae Williams, manager, Spiritual Care (seated, left) and Aida Jackson, patient financial access specialist, visited third-grade students to kick off their summer of reading.
