Yale Medicine and Yale School of Medicine recently honored these clinical faculty members:
Michael G. Caty, MD, received the David J. Leffell Prize for Clinical Excellence, which recognizes clinical expertise, a commitment to teaching and the highest standards of care and compassion. Dr. Caty is surgeon-in-chief of Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital, and the Robert Pritzker Professor of Surgery (Pediatrics) and professor of pediatrics, chief of the Section of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery, Yale School of Medicine.
These physicians received the Distinguished Clinical Career Award for long-serving clinical faculty whose careers have been marked by significant accomplishments: Michael Baumgaertner, MD. professor of orthopaedics and rehabilitation and director, Orthopaedic Trauma Service; Thomas Carpenter, MD, professor of pediatrics (endocrinology) and of orthopaedics and rehabilitation; clinical professor of nursing; director, Yale Center for X-Linked Hypophosphatemia; and medical director, Hospital Research Unit; Karen Jubanyik, MD, associate professor, Department of Emergency Medicine and director, Emergency Medicine Clerkship; Marie Robert, MD, professor of pathology and of medicine (digestive diseases), and director, Program in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology; and Kathleen Stoessel, MD, associate professor of ophthalmology and visual science, and director, Retina Fellowship Program.
