EP 4-6 earns Capacity Champions Cup for second time

Congratulations to EP 4-6 (Medicine) staff, who recently received Yale New Haven Hospital’s Capacity Champions Cup award a second time. The award recognizes units that meet their discharge target the most days in the previous month. EP 4-6 staff achieved their discharge target 60 percent of the days in September and had the most discharges over their target number for the month. The Capacity Champions Cup is part of Yale New Haven Health’s efforts to improve patient throughput by ensuring that patients who are clinically ready to leave the acute-care setting experience a safe and timely discharge. In addition to enhancing the quality and safety of care, efficient patient throughput helps ease overcrowding on inpatient units and in the emergency departments.
