From the ground up

With the help of a massive crane, crews have begun installing sections of the new Orchard Street Garage at the Saint Raphael Campus. The 784-space garage is being built in two phases, with the current phase next to the existing Orchard Street Garage on what was previously a parking lot. Meanwhile, buildings along Sherman Avenue are gradually being demolished to make way for the new Neurosciences Center and Bed Tower. Two houses previously used for general offices and the Pastoral Care department have been removed. Demolition of the former Convent and trailers atop the McGivney Surgery Center that previously housed outpatient clinics will be performed in phases over the next several weeks.
