Yale New Haven and Bridgeport hospitals have each been named a 2022-2023 High Performing Hospital for Maternity Care (Uncomplicated Pregnancy) by U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in hospital rankings and consumer advice.
This is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals for Maternity Care. The annual evaluation is designed to help expectant parents, in consultation with their doctors, make informed decisions about where to receive maternity care.

There is no greater priority than ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care.”
YNHH was recognized for maternity care as measured by factors such as fewer early deliveries, fewer C-sections and fewer newborn complications than other hospitals, along with higher breastfeeding rates. The U.S. News rankings are also based on a hospital’s services and amenities.
U.S. News evaluated nearly 650 hospitals that provide high-quality labor and delivery services for uncomplicated pregnancies for its 2022-2023 Best Hospitals for Maternity Care. Fewer than half that participated in the survey received a High Performing designation.
