Notes at Noon, the annual summer music concert series sponsored by the Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary, kicks off its 30th year June 24 with Holiday Ping, a pop/rock/funk/jam band. Concerts are Fridays, noon - 1 pm (weather permitting), in the Hunter Courtyard at the corner of York and Cedar streets.

Practice Greenhealth, a national organization honoring environmental sustainability achievements in health care, recently recognized Yale New Haven Hospital with five awards for implementing and continuously expanding environmental programs. YNHH won the Top 25 Environmental Excellence Award, the highest honor for hospitals, for engaging in environmentally preferable purchasing, a bio-based cleaning program, waste-reduction efforts, food donations to local organizations, energy conservation initiatives, safer chemicals for patients and employees and environmental stewardship practices to decrease its carbon footprint. YNHH has eradicated harmful chemicals hospital-wide and is the only Connecticut hospital to recycle in all ORs. In addition, YNHH won four Circle of Excellence awards for being a top 10 hospital nationally in safer chemicals, greening the OR, healthy food and climate.
YNHH’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center has been re-accredited Level 4 – the industry’s highest mark – by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. First accredited Level 4 in 2010, the center is Connecticut’s only Level 4 adult comprehensive epilepsy center.
