Gary V. Desir, MD; Maxwell Laurans, MD; George Pressley
Gary V. Desir, MD, has been appointed chief of Internal Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital and chair of the department at Yale School of Medicine (YSM). A professor of medicine in nephrology, Dr. Desir holds a secondary appointment at the School of Forestry and Environmental Studies at Yale University. Dr. Desir completed his undergraduate studies at New York University and received his MD degree from YSM. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at YNHH. He is also an assistant professor at YSM.
Maxwell Laurans, MD, has been named executive director and clinical chief of Perioperative Services. Dr. Laurans is known for his active clinical career in the department of Neurosurgery and as chair of the Perioperative Quality and Safety Committee and physician director for supply chain initiatives. He received his BA from Yale University, his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine and completed his residency training in neurosurgery at YNHH, including serving as chief resident. In addition, he earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
George Pressley has been named director, Environmental Services, Yale New Haven Hospital. He has over 10 years of environmental services management experience, most recently with ABM Healthcare Support Services. Before joining YNHH, Pressley was system director of Environmental Services at Gwinnett Medical Center, Lawrenceville, GA. He earned his BS and MBA from Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, NC.
