Work under way for new Infor enterprise resource planning system

July 1, 2018 might seem like a long way off, but teams from Information Technology Services, Human Resources, Corporate Supply Chain and Finance are hard at work preparing for that day, the scheduled launch of the new Infor enterprise resource planning system.

Infor will replace the Lawson system currently used for a wide variety of functions in those areas, such as non-patient billing, purchase orders, employee benefits administration, general finance and many others. Infor will integrate core business and other non-clinical functions at all YNHHS delivery networks into one integrated platform and offer new features.

Leveraging the Infor technology platform to meet Yale New Haven Health System’s current and future needs is a big job that requires the kind of detailed planning Infor teams are engaged in now. For example, one HR team project involves reviewing the qualifications and duties of certain positions to standardize job titles health system-wide. Teams in each area are also planning for new features that will be available in Infor, such as apps employees will be able to access via their smart phones or tablets.

“Like our Epic project, the Infor project offers us the opportunity to re-think business processes and transform for value,” said Lisa Stump, senior vice president and chief information officer, YNHHS.
