Auxiliary celebrates 67th annual meeting

More than 80 members and supporters of the Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary gathered Sept. 24 for the organization’s 67th annual meeting. They celebrated numerous accomplishments, including completion of a $1 million pledge to the Neonatal and obstetrical care units and Center for Musculoskeletal Care; integration of the Looking Forward Program, which raised more than $50,000 for Smilow integrative medicine activities; Project Grants program, which provided $110,000 to departments throughout the hospital; Auxiliary Scholarship program, which awarded 10 scholarships to area students; and Toy Closet program. The Auxiliary also installed its 2019-20 officers: Anne Marie Chuckrey, president; Beverly Lewis, president-elect; Caren Carpenter, treasurer; Janet Crean, assistant treasurer; Judy O’Connor, recording secretary; and Diane Rubeo, corresponding secretary. With the Auxiliary’s Thrift Shop at the Saint Raphael Campus scheduled to close by Dec. 31, the shop’s volunteers received special recognition at the meeting.
