icd-10 command center

Yale New Haven Health System was ready Oct. 1 when the government required hospitals and other healthcare providers nationwide to assign new clinical codes and provide more documentation specificity in patient health records. The ICD-10 codes are much more specific about patients' diagnoses and procedures, resulting in nearly five times the number of ICD-10 diagnosis codes compared to ICD-9. Information Technology Services and ICD-10 project experts staffed the ICD-10 command center to answer questions and support physicians and staff on the use of the new codes.
