Lynnelle Abel, Angel A. Bruno, Steven Choi, MD
Lynelle Abel has been named system director of Volunteer Services, Yale New Haven Health. In this position, she will oversee all YNHHS volunteer programs. She began her career in volunteer administration over 25 years ago, and has served as director of Volunteer Services at the Hospital of Saint Raphael and, most recently, director of Volunteer and Guest Services, Yale New Haven Hospital. Abel earned her BS in human services from Southern New Hampshire University and her MA in industrial/organizational psychology from the University of New Haven.
Angel A. Bruno has been named executive director, Total Rewards, Yale New Haven Health Human Resources department. In this position, he will oversee the health system’s overall compensation and benefits programs, with initial focus on executive compensation, workers’ compensation and enhancing the value and cost-effectiveness of compensation and benefit practices. Before joining YNHHS, Bruno was vice president, Total Rewards, for Avangrid, Inc., an energy company in Orange. Bruno earned his BA in organizational behavior and management from Brown University and an MBA/MSM from Albertus Magnus College.
Steven Choi, MD, has been named chief quality officer, Yale New Haven Health and Yale Medicine. In this new role, he will develop and oversee the implementation of a common safety and quality agenda across all inpatient and ambulatory YNHHS and Yale Medicine practice sites. He was previously assistant vice president, Montefiore Health System; performance improvement director, Montefiore Network; and executive director, Montefiore Institute for Performance Improvement. Dr. Choi earned his MD from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed pediatric residency training at Columbia University/Babies and Children’s Hospital of New York, and a critical care fellowship at University of Southern California School of Medicine/Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
