Yale New Haven employees and physicians will be among the participants in this year’s Founders’ Day service at the Saint Raphael Campus. Last year’s service included representatives from departments and roles throughout YNHHS and the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth.
Yale New Haven’s annual Founders’ Day program will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, November 14, in the Saint Raphael Campus Chapel. All members of the YNHH community are invited to attend the interfaith service, themed “With Gratitude and Love.”
Introduced by YNHH in 2013, Founders’ Day celebrates the legacy of caring of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, founders of the former Hospital of Saint Raphael. Saint Raphael’s joined Yale New Haven Hospital in September 2012.
Through popular music and readings provided by Yale New Haven staff, this year’s interactive program will focus on the blessings in our lives, especially those we easily take for granted given multiple demands for our time and attention. These blessings include the privilege of working alongside talented colleagues each day.
Program participants will include Richard D’Aquila, president, YNHH and YNHHS; Christopher O’Connor, executive vice president and chief operating officer, YNHHS; Sister Rosemary Moynihan, general superior of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth and a YNHH trustee; and other hospital leaders, staff, physicians and volunteers.
The service will be followed by a reception in the chapel vestibule. The Founders Day program will be broadcast on the SRC Chapel Channel, accessible to patients and staff.
