Dean Caruso; Margot Manacchio, RN, MBA; Andrea Murrell, RN, MS
Dean Caruso has been named executive director, Support Services and Sustainability, Yale New Haven Hospital. He oversees Environmental Services, Food and Nutrition, Parking, Photo ID, Protective Services and sustainability services for the hospital. Caruso was previously director of Hospitality and director of Support Services at New York-Presbyterian Hospital’s Weill Cornell Medical Center, Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, Westchester Division, and Allen Hospital. He has also served as a leader in support services at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Resorts. He earned his BS in psychology from Jacksonville University and his master’s in management from Fordham University.
Margot Manacchio, RN, MBA, has been named executive director, Medicine Services, Yale New Haven Hospital. She joined the former Hospital of Saint Raphael in 1986 and has served in a number of leadership roles, most recently as director, Medicine Service. In addition to overseeing all Medicine ambulatory sites, Manacchio is responsible for all inpatient Medicine units and Medical Intensive Care and Step Down units at both campuses, as part of an integration of Medicine inpatient and ambulatory services. Manacchio earned her BS in nursing from Syracuse University and her executive MBA from the University of New Haven, and graduated from the Yale School of Management, Executive Education Strategic Agility and Innovation Program.
Andrea Murrell, RN, MS, has been named patient service manager of Cardiac Med/Surg/ Stepdown (SP 5-3). She joined Yale New Haven Hospital in 2004 as a milieu counselor at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital and became a nurse on the Transplant and Liver Unit (WP 9) in 2010. She was most recently the unit’s assistant patient service manager. Murrell earned her BS in communications and master’s in family therapy from Southern Connecticut State University before returning to school to pursue nursing. She earned her BSN from Fairfield University. She has received a Nightingale Award for Nursing Excellence.
