The event includes a 5K kids run and timed and untimed adult 5K runs and walks, along with a costume contest and other activities. The Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary invites employees, patients and the community to the annual Holiday Tree Lightings Tuesday, Dec. 3. The events will be noon - 12:20 pm in the Saint Raphael Campus main lobby and 4 - 4:20 pm in the Hunter Courtyard, corner of York and Cedar streets.
Expect to find a number of unique items and plenty of holiday cheer at the Cingari Family Boutique holiday bazaar, 5 - 8 pm Thursday, Dec. 5, in front of the boutique, near the Smilow lobby. In addition to shopping, the event will feature refreshments, giveaways and festive music provided by a volunteer pianist. Employees will receive 20 percent off most items. Phase 2 of New Haven’s Downtown Crossing project kicked off this summer and is expected to run through summer 2021. This year’s construction is not expected to cause significant traffic issues, but delays and detours will be more extensive starting in mid-2020. Phase 2 will reconnect Orange Street to South Orange Street with an intersection across the Route 34 corridor. The Downtown Crossing project aims to reconnect portions of New Haven that were cut off from one another by the Oak Street Connector – the small stretch of Route 34 that was turned into an expressway in 1959. Yale New Haven Health System recently became the preferred provider for Mohegan Tribal citizens, employees and their families. YNHHS will develop facilities on the Mohegan Reservation to provide primary care, walk-in care and specialty care services, including patient care navigators and a resource center to promote wellness and help patients navigate the healthcare system. The health care center will also be open to the public, including Mohegan visitors and people in the surrounding communities.
