The center was recognized for achieving patient satisfaction scores above the 95th percentile each month during fiscal year 2017.

The 24-bed center opened in 2015 in space YNHH leases from Milford Hospital. Patients are cared for by a variety of physician specialists, including physiatrists, who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Many of the center’s 60 staff members came from Yale New Haven and Bridgeport hospitals and include nurses certified in rehabilitation, along with physical, occupational and speech therapists with advanced skills.

The Rehabilitation and Wellness Center provides one-on-one, intensive therapy for patients from throughout the region with neurological disorders, trauma, limb loss, joint replacements and other conditions. The center also provides support services, including a new amputee support group.
