The Heart and Vascular Center’s Nuclear Cardiology services are now bolstered with a new digital PET/CT scanner that uses low radiation and provides novel imaging studies for different types of coronary artery disease and vascular disease; and assesses heart artery calcium, a marker of coronary artery disease.
This scanner is the only FDA-approved non-invasive diagnostic tool for microvascular disease. PET/CT scanning is covered by most insurance plans, and patients can expect a similar out-of-pocket cost as a traditional cardiac PET scan. For information and appointments, please call 203-688-4749. Hours are 7 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.
