From May 8 - 17, Yale New Haven Health will hold its second annual “10 Days of Gratitude” to honor the more than 30,000 employees and medical staff who make up our health system. The celebration will include Nurses Week May 6 - 12 and Hospital Week May 12 -18.
“Last year’s 10 Days of Gratitude was a great success, so we’re making this year’s even bigger and better,” said Denise Morris, vice president, Inclusion, Belonging and Employee/Labor Relations, YNHHS.
“We’re bringing back some favorite activities from last year and adding new ways to show our employees how much we appreciate their dedication to our patients, communities and the organization,” said Melissa Turner, YNHHS senior vice president and chief human resources officer.
Throughout the 10 days, employees will once again be able to choose a gift, with some new options available, and random drawings will be held for some different prizes this year. A motivational speaker, webinars and wellness challenges will be back, plus new tips on cultivating gratitude. The health system will again offer vouchers for free meals in the cafeterias. This year, based on employees’ feedback, the voucher may be used any day during the 10 Days of Gratitude. Those who are not working at a location with access to the cafeterias will receive a special treat.
