PEACE recognition announced
These employees received PEACE (Patient Experience Award for Caring and Excellence) recognition for going above and beyond to meet patients’ and families’ needs.
A team from the Surgical ICU (SP 7-1) was honored for exceptional and compassionate care of a patient admitted to the hospital with COVID-19. The patient expressed gratitude for the way the team communicated to his family throughout his lengthy recovery and the extra attention he received.
Sharie Thomas, Emergency Department technical associate, was honored for going above and beyond for a patient injured in an accident outside her home. Thomas assessed the situation and began CPR on the person in the street. She remained with the patient and kept him stable until paramedics arrived to transport him to the hospital.
