Terri Fried, MD, has been named section chief of Geriatrics, Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine. She is a professor of medicine (geriatrics) at Yale School of Medicine (YSM) and an attending physician at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. Before joining YSM in 1995, Dr. Fried was an assistant professor of medicine at Brown University School of Medicine. She earned her MD from Harvard Medical School; completed her internship and residency at Rhode Island Hospital; and completed fellowships in geriatrics and ethics at Harvard.
John Wysolmerski, MD, has been named section chief of Endocrinology and Metabolism, Yale New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine. Since 2011, he has held leadership positions at YNHH and Yale School of Medicine, as associate chief of research in Endocrinology and Metabolism and associate program director for Physician-Scientist Programs for the YNHH and YSM Internal Medicine Residency. He is a professor of medicine at YSM, and was most recently interim section chief of Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr. Wysolmerski earned his MD from Yale School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at New England Medical Center and a fellowship in endocrinology at YSM.
Ursula Brewster, MD, associate professor of medicine (nephrology) recently earned the 2021 American Society of Nephrology Distinguished Educator Award. The award honors those who have made “substantial and meritorious” contributions to clinical or research education in nephrology and the education of trainees and junior faculty, and have acquired special knowledge to stay informed of the latest advances in clinical care and research. Dr. Brewster is an associate professor of medicine (nephrology) at Yale School of Medicine and program director for the Nephrology Fellowship Program. She earned her MD from Dartmouth School of Medicine.
