Shanell Hobby, environmental services associate, Heart and Vascular Observation unit (EP 5-7), was recognized for practicing a questioning attitude when she witnessed a patient in respiratory distress. Hobby was cleaning a discharged bed in a double room and heard gasping from the occupied bed behind the curtain. She immediately escalated her concerns to a nurse, who called for the necessary interventions to help the patient.
Outpatient
Cristal Saccu, senior patient access representative, PFAS, Emergency Department, was recognized for attention to detail and speaking up for safety while completing the registration for an infant who was being admitted for surgery. While placing the wristband on the patient, Saccu realized that the baby's car seat was broken. She contacted the Injury Prevention department and requested a new car seat to ensure the baby's safety upon discharge.
