Yale New Haven Health System encourages all employees to take the 2017 YNHHS Employee Engagement Survey, which launches Monday, March 20 at 7 am and runs through Monday, April 10 at 7 am.
"Employees' candid feedback assists us in creating and maintaining a positive work environment," said Kevin A. Myatt, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. "Responses assess progress from prior surveys, confirm what we are doing well and identify where there is still work to be done. Your insights will be used to strengthen the partnership between employees and our organization, ensuring a culture that supports our success."
Taking the survey also supports achievement of Yale New Haven Hospital's 2017 PIP goals. For more about about PIP, see the story in this issue.
Employees from all YNHHS organizations will be asked identical survey questions covering areas such as professional growth, teamwork, feedback, recognition and employee support. The survey will also include questions about system-wide diversity and inclusion work, along with an open-ended question that allows employees to provide further comments about their work experience. Additionally, nurses at all YNHHS hospitals who spend at least 50 percent of their time in direct patient care will be asked 15 Magnet-designated questions.
Advisory Board Solutions, the independent company administering the survey, will compile employees' confidential responses and provide results in summaries; no individual responses will be shared.
During the same timeframe, medical staff members at all YNHHS organizations will take a Medical Staff Engagement Survey. Medical staff members who are employed by YNHHS are asked to take both the medical staff and employee surveys. Questions on the surveys differ, so completing both provides a better assessment of overall engagement.
The employee survey is open to all employees hired before Jan. 23, 2017. Once it is live, employees may use any computer with internet access and visit www.ynhhs.org/employeesurvey or click the links on each YNHHS organization's main intranet landing page, Employee Self Service and the YNHHS HR intranet landing page. To take the survey, employees will use a private password that is a combination of the two digits of their birth month, last two digits of their birth year and last five digits of their employee ID number. This password provides access to the Advisory Board's confidential site and links responses to the correct organization and reporting structure.
